Julie grew up in Mount Airy and graduated from Linganore High School. She completed her associate’s degree credits in Early Childhood Education at Carroll Community College. She’s completing her bachelor’s degree at Western Governor’s University in Special Education. Julie has worked with children for the last 20 years, with a passion for special education. She has experience with infants through middle school, most recently at Oklahoma Road Middle School as a special education assistant. She loves working with children, and knowing she makes a difference in their education journey. She loves seeing the children have those “aha moments” and knowing that she helped them learn something new. Julie and her husband live in Sykesville with their 8-year-old daughter. They have a dog and four cats. Julie loves traveling, all things artsy, organizing, and spending time with her family. She enjoys the outdoors whether it’s camping, fishing, or hiking. She’s a die-hard Raven’s fan and goes to the games as often as she can!
